2009 Dragon Boat Race

On Saturday, June 20, our team raced in the pouring rain for the preliminary. However, it did not dampen our spirit and we completed the race and advanced to 2nd round.
On Father's Day Sunday, June 21, the first race took place in the early morning. Every member, many with their families arrived in full spirit. There is no better way to celebrate Father's Day than to cheer, support and spend the day with dads.
We competed with five very competitive teams for the final. Our team finished with the best time in our race history and we were just less than one second from the bronze medal. Even though we missed the podium by the narrowest of margin, our team spirit was high and every team member vowed to have a strong come back next year.
After the race, we went for lunch to celebrate the achievement and Father's Day.
