Rotary Educates Young Mind - Literacy Project in Philippines
The Rotary Club of York with our Partner, Rotary Club of Plaridel in Philippines, initiated a book drive for the "Rotary Educates Young Mind" literacy project. This campaign helps alleviate poverty through education and benefits more than 1000 kids in over 20 day care centers, 5 elementary and two secondary schools in Plaridel, Bulacan region.
Our special thanks go to the generosity of the York Region Catholic school community, Alpha Textbook Store, Toronto and Canadian School Book Exchange, Mississauga. Thousands of school text books, fictions, school supplies and toys have been collected and shipped . Our book drive will not be successful without the tremendous support from AMJ Campbell International, who provides financial support to transport the books collected to Philippines.
