Tonight we were pleased to welcome Mr. & Mrs. Mike Phelan to our Rotary Club meeting. Mr. Phelan is an old friend of the club and a Past District Governor of District 7070.
PDG Phelan shared a presentation on the "Power of Rotary Partnership" in securing funds for Rotary projects. Each club, including the Rotary Club of York, contributes to the Rotary Foundation annually. The Foundation matches club funds committed to a single project. Clubs that choose to partner up are eligible to receive a higher ratio of funds from the Foundation. Ideally, projects that involve four or more clubs will maximize the contribution from the Foundation. PDG Phelan shared his enthusiasm for a particular improvement project in Honduras, and encouraged the club to maximize our funds together. We were very impressed with his work and grateful for the excellent presentation.
