Our Rotary Club is proud to sponsor the Literacy Award at Ryerson University's School of Early Childhood Studies in the Faculty of Community Services. The scholarship is awarded to one undergraduate student in the School of Early Childhood Studies, in the full-time or part-time program, who has demonstrated academic excellence and leadership in promoting literacy in the community.

Three members of the Rotary Club of York were pleased to attend the Awards Event and Celebration of Students held at Ryerson University. We met with Dr. Elaine Frankel, Professor in the School of Early Childhood Studies, who introduced our President-elect Hadia Raheel to present the Literacy Award.

President-Elect Hadia Raheel spoke highly of this year's recipient, Ms. Tiffany Colaco, who commuted long hours each week between her home, part-time job, and university and still managed to achieve excellence in her program.

Our Club was also present to witness the recipients of other scholarships and awards to this year's exceptional students in the School of Early Childhood Studies.
